Haverhill, MA - January 23, 2007 - Maria Rosado, a housekeeper, at Merrimack Valley Hospital, has been named the January employee of the month. She performs housekeeping and transport duties for the hospital's Adult Behavioral Medicine Unit.

Staff members who are awarded the Employee of the Month honor excel in eight areas: performance, reliability, personality, appearance, consideration, initiative, communication and acting as a hospital ambassador during work hours.

Maria is known for her efficient, diligent and can-do work ethic. Her co-workers describe her as always willing to help and work when and where she is needed.

"Maria's exceptional patience, courtesy and genuine care for patients make her invaluable to their care," said her boss, Santa Gonzales, Housekeeping Supervisor. "She is able to work in each and every acute healthcare housekeeping situation with the same level of success and initiative."

Maria has worked at Merrimack Valley Hospital for more than five years.
