It's Safe and Painless
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (M.R.I.) is a safe and painless way to diagnose and monitor diseases and health conditions. The M.R.I. uses a powerful magnet to create detailed pictures of the body's organs and tissues. (Patient Magnet Safety) It produces no radiation and has no known side effects. Depending on the part of the body being examined, the test usually takes between 30 - 60 minutes.

How to Make a Referral
Ask your Doctor to Refer you to The M.R.I. Services at MVH. We are conveniently open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  We also offer Saturday appointments from 8am-3pm.

Your Upcoming Appointment
If you are already scheduled for an exam, please download the Patient Magnet Safety Questionnaire, fill it out and bring it with you to your appointment. If you have any contraindications, please call The M.R.I. Services at Merrimack Valley Hospital before your scheduled exam.
